This world is surrounded by negativity especially in the workplace. Humans are social creatures and thrive off of their surroundings and the people around them. As a leader in any situation or even as a boss times like this where we need to step up and positively impact the people around us.

The feeling of not being wanted or needed is one of the top reasons people quit their dream job.

This world is changing, and so are people so how do we as leaders lift up those around us. We need to affirm to people that they are needed in whatever they are doing. Simple words like “good job” sometimes do make a difference but we need to go the extra mile for them to go the extra mile for us.

Take a moment out of your day to express how much they mean to you and how they help you or the company. We need these people to stay in order to run our company. Good employees do not just walk out of the door for no reason.

Here are some ideas for what you can do to make someone's day and feel wanted.

  • Send them an encouraging text
  • Give them a phone call
  • Talk to them like a friend not as an employee
  • Go the extra mile for them

We all need a little bit of encouragement in order to keep pushing through and accomplishing a goal.

Spread kindness in a world with so much negativity. Make a difference in this world, love you all and stay safe.
